The ISM has the following executive bodies: Members Assembly, Presidium.

1. The Members Assembly is a meeting of the members of ISM. When voting, each country has one vote only. The Members Assembly should take place on the occasion of the International Congress, at least every five years. The Members Assembly has the following tasks:

          to establish the guidelines for the activity of the ISM;

          to approve the activities of the Presidium;

          to decide upon the proposals submitted to the Presidium or by the members;

          to determine the place and time of the next International Congress and of the next Members Assembly.

2. The Presidium consists of: the President; the two Vice-Presidents, and the Delegates of individual countries; Honorary members (with no vote); Chairman of the Organizing Committee (Congress Director with no vote); Advisers (substitute of the Presidium members) and Observers with no vote).

The President and two Vice-Presidents constitute the Executive Presidium. The office of President is held by the delegate of country organizing the forthcoming International Congress on Mine Surveying. The offices of the two Vice-Presidents are held by the delegates of those countries which organized the previous International Congress and which will organize the subsequent International Congress on Mine Surveying.
