The 49th Presidium Meeting had confirmed that South Africa will host the 19th Congress of International Society for Mine Surveying. Prof. Grobler Hendrik from University of Johannesburg had been confirmed as vice president of ISM until the host of 19th Congress of International Society for Mine Surveying in 2025 or 2026. Prof. Grobler Hendrik and his team and the Institute of Mine Surveyors of South Africa will submit an initial plan to Presidium to state the potential city, time, organizer and schedule for hosting the 19th Congress.
5.9. By-election of vice president of ISM
According to the ISM charter, ISM has 1 president and 2 vice president, who will be the president of the previous and next ISM Congress. However, the 17th president Prof. Anatoly Okhotin from Russia had passed away in 2019, and the 16th president Prof. Andrew Jarosz from Australia had retired. It is proposed to nominate the 15th president Prof. Axel Preusse from Germany as the vice president. The 49th Presidium Meeting had confirmed that Prof. Axel Preusse will serve as vice president of ISM until the host of 18th Congress of International Society for Mine Surveying in 2023.
5.10. Commission and national reports
The 4 and 6 commissions had report the progress from 2020 to 2021. The delegates from Russia, Poland, Hungary, and Kazakhstan had report the progress in their country.

5.13. Establishment of the seventh commission "Youth" and the eighth commission "underground space"
5.14. Establishment of professional committees in each commission
5.15. Discussion and confirmation on the supplementary clauses to the ISM Statutes.
5.15.1 The establishment of awards for outstanding members and young scholars.
5.15.2 More than 5 (including) national mine survey representatives participated and proposed that a new professional commission can be established, but it should not overlap with the technical content originally set by the professional commission.
5.15.3 The commissions holds their annual meeting every year. The presidium will warn the commission president if he/she does not organize the annual meeting for two consecutive years. The presidium can terminate the qualification of the chairman of the commission if he/she does not organize the annual meeting for three consecutive years and propose other outstanding people as new chairman. Considering that only one chairman for a commission is not stable and enough for run the activity, President Prof. Leting Huang has propose that each commission could have 1 chairman and 2 vice chairman.
5.15.4 To expand the composition of the ISM Presidium Member to include ISM president, ISM vice president, national representatives, commission chairman, important academic experts and academic experts who have made important contributions to ISM. Academic experts will have no voting right.
